This the third ship to carry the name HMS Cornwallis was a fourth rate 54-gun, ship.

Originally the East Indiaman, Marquis Cornwallis, bought 1801. 166ft 6in long, 43ft 6in wide and of 1,388 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Akbar 13-Aug-1806 and used as a troopship.

Used for harbour service from Sep-1824.

Sold 1862.

Won the Battle Honour: Amboina 1810.
