This the first ship to carry the name HMS Cheerful was a 12 gun, cutter.

Built by Johnson of Dover, launched Nov-1896, 68ft long, 20ft wide and of 111 tons builders measurement. Armed with 8 x 18pdr carronades and 4 x 6pdr guns.

Sold 31-Jul-1816.
