This the first ship to carry the name HMS Charger was a 13-gun, gun-brig.

Built by Dudman of Deptford, launched 17-Apr-1801, 80ft long 22ft 6in wide and of 179 tons builders measurement. Armed with 1 x 8in mortar, 10 x 18pdr carronades and 2 x 18pdr guns.

Sold 09-Jun-1814.
