      This the only ship to carry the name HMS Cavalier was a 
      Ca Class, destroyer. Built by White, laid down 28-Feb-1943, launched 07-Apr-1944, and commissioned 22-Nov-1944. At the end of WW2 the flotilla went to the East Indies. Then into Reserve 1946. Mid 1950's modernised and rebuilt for ASW duties. Decommissioned 1972. Sold Oct-1977 for conversion to a Museum Ship. Moored at Southampton 1977, Brighton 1983, Hebburn 1987 and Chatham from 1999 onwards. Won the Battle Honour: Arctic 1945.
