This the first ship to carry the name HMS Calypso was a 16-gun, sloop.

Built by Graves of Deptford, launched 27-Sep-1783, 102ft long, 28ft wide and of 342 tons builders measurement.

Run down and sunk by a Merchantman in Atlantic, Aug-1803.
