This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Bonaventure was a 42-gun, ship.

Originally HMS President, built at Deptford, launched 1650, 124ft long, 30ft wide and of 462 tons builders measurement.

Renamed Bonaventure 1660.

Rebuilt 1666 as 597 tons builders measurement 126ft long and 33ft wide.

Broken up 1711.

Won the Battle Honours: Lowestoft 1665, Four Days' Battle 1666, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672, Schooneveld 1673, Texel 1673, and Barfleur 1692.
