This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Bittern was a
torpedo boat
destroyer. Built by NC&A (Vickers), laid down 18-Feb-1896, launched 01-Feb-1897, and completed Apr-1899. On completion served her entire career in UK waters. Sank 04-Apr-1918 following a collision with the SS Kenilworth in the English Channel.
