This the second ship to carry the name HMS Ambuscade was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Built by Adams of Deptford, launched 17-Sep-1773. 126ft 6in long, 35ft wide and of 684 tons builders measurement.

Captured by the French ship Bayonnaise, 14-Dec-1798, and renamed Embuscade.

Recaptured 28-May-1803.

Broken up at Deptford Jun-1810.
