This the first ship to carry the name HMS Acasta was a fifth rate, 40-gun, ship.

Built by Wells of Rotherhithe, launched 14-Mar-1797, 154ft long, 41ft wide and of 1,142 tons builders measurement.

Broken up 01-Jan-1821.

Won the Battle Honours: San Domingo 1806 and Martinique 1809.
