HMS Aboukir (1902) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Aboukir was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Fairfield of Govan, laid down 09-Nov-1898. launched 16-May-1900 and completed 03-Apr-1902.

On completion went to the Mediterranean 1902-05, then returned to the UK and went into reserve 1906-07. To the Mediterranean 1909-12, then the 3rd Fleet 1912-14 .

Then with the 7th Cruiser Squadron in the North Sea.

Torpedoed and sunk by U-9 in the North Sea, 22-Sep-1914, together with her sister ships Cressy and Hogue.

Won the Battle Honour : Heligoland 1914.
