H Class (1939) DD

The six ships of the H Class (1940) were destroyers.

Originally under construction for Brazil to the same design as H Class (1936) but with only 3 x 4.7in guns. The Y turret was deleted to make way for additional depth charge stowage. They were bought from Brazil 04-Sep-1939.

On completion they formed the 9th Destroyer flotilla.

After WW2 Brazil did  not wish to buy the survivors and they were scrapped.
