This the first ship to carry the name HMS Yarmouth was a
50-gun, ship. Built by Edgar of Yarmouth, launched 1653. Broken up 1680. Won the battle Honours: Lowestoft 1665, Orfordness 1666, Sole Bay 1672, Schooneveld 1673 and Texel 1673.
