HMS Warrior (1906) CC  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Warrior was the name ship of a class of four Armoured Cruisers.

Built at Pembroke Dock, laid down 05-Nov-1903, launched 25-Nov-1905 and completed 12-Dec-1906.

On completion joined the Home Fleet 1907-0913, then went to the Mediterranean 1913-14. With the outbreak of WW1 was sent to the Adriatic to try to prevent the breakout of the Battlecruiser Goeben.

Served at the Suez Canal, Gibraltar and Sierra Leone. Joined the Grand Fleet Dec-1914-16.

Badly damaged by gunfire at the Battle of Jutland 31-May-1916. Taken in tow by HMS Engadine but foundered 01-Jun-1916, with the loss of 71 of her crew.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
