This the first ship to carry the name HMS Wager was a sixth rate, 24-gun, ship.

Bought 21-Nov-1739, 123ft long, 32ft wide, displacing 32ft, and of 559 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 14-May-1741 on the south coast of Chile.
