This the first HMS Sandwich was a second rate, three deck,
90/82-gun Ship-of-the-line.
Built by Bets of Harwich, launched1679, 161ft 6in long, 44ft 6in wide, and of 1,346 tons builders measurement (bm). Rebuilt at Chatham 1706 with an increased tonnage of 1,573 tons bm. Hulked 1752. Broken up at Chatham 1770. Won the Battle Honour: Barfleur 1692.
