HMS Royal Arthur (1893) CC  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Royal Arthur was a 1st class protected cruiser.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, laid down 20-Jan-1890, launched 26-Feb-1891, and completed 02-Mar-1893.

On completion Served as Flagship on the pacific Station 1893-96, then returned to the UK for refit at Portsmouth 1896-97.

Went to the Australia Station as flagship 1897-1904, followed by another refit 1904-05. Then out to the America & west Indies Station as Flagship 1905-06. Returned to the UK and went into reserve 1906-13.

Served at the Training Squadron, Queenstown 1913-14. Joined the Northern Patrol 1914, and used as guardship Scapa Flow 1915.

Final service was a Submarine Depot Ship 1918-20.

Paid off 1920 and sold 1921.
