This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Renown was a second rate, 91-gun, screw, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 28-Mar-1857, 244ft 6in long, 55ft 6in wide and of 3,319 tons builders measurement.

Armed with 34 x 8in, 1 x 68pdr, and 56 x 32pdr guns.

Sold 24-Mar-1867 to the North German Confederation Navy.
