This the first ship to carry the name HMS Raleigh was a fifth
rate, 32-gun, ship. Originally American, captured 28-Sep-1778 by HMS Experiment and HMS Hero. 131ft 6in x 35ft 6in and of 679 tons builders measurement. Armed with 32 x 12pdr guns. Sold 17-Jul-1783.
