HMS Magnificent (1895) BB  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Magnificent, was a Majestic Class (1895) battleship.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down Dec-1893,  launched 19-Dec-1894, and completed in Dec-1895.

She served a 2nd Flagship of the Channel Fleet 1895-1904. After a short refit in 1904 served with the Channel, Atlantic and Reserve Fleets until refit in 1907-08. Then with the Home Fleet until becoming a training ship in 1911. Joined the 9th Battle Squadron in 1914. 

Her turrets were removed in 1915 for use in monitors, and she was used as a troop ship in late 1915. After this she was only used in various support roles, becoming a storeship Jan-1918.

Sold in 09-May-1921 and broken up at Inverkeithing.

Won the Battle Honour: Dardanelles 1915.
