HMS King Edward VII (1905) BB  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS King Edward VII was the name ship of a Class of eight battleships.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, laid down in Mar-1902, launched 23-Jul-1903 and completed Feb 1905.

She served in home waters from 1905-12, being at various times flagship in the Atlantic, Channel and Home Fleets. In 1912 deployed briefly to the Mediterranean.
Then to the 3rd Battle Squadron in August 1914.

On 6-Jan-1916 struck a mine off Cape Wrath and sank.
