HMS King Alfred (1903) CC  (1st)

     
This the only ship to carry the name HMS King Alfred was an Armoured Cruiser.

Built by Vickers of barrow, laid down 11-Aug-1899, launched 28-Oct-1901 and completed 22-Dec-1903.

On completion served on Particular Service 1904, then went into reserve 1905. To the China Station as Flagship 1906-10. Back to the UK and 3rd Fleet 1911, 2nd Fleet 1912-14.

With the outbreak of WW1 joined the 6th Cruiser Squadron Grand Fleet 1914. To the 9th Cruiser Squadron Mid Atlantic Fleet 1915-17. Final active service was with the America & West Indies Station 1917-19.

Sold 1920.
