HMS Kashmir (1939) DD  (1st)

    
This the first ship to carry the name HMS Kashmir was a K Class, destroyer.

Built by Thorneycroft, laid down Oct-1937, launched 04-Apr-1939, and commissioned 26-Oct-1939.

Joined the Home Fleet on Commissioning.

Nov-1939 with Kingston and Icarus, sank U-35.

Apr-1941 moved to the Mediterranean and joined Force H.

During operations in the evacuation off Crete, bombed and sunk by dive bombers, 02-May-1941.

Won the Battle Honours: North Sea 1939, Crete 1941 and Mediterranean 1941.
