This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Hercules was one of six Majestic Class (1948)
Light Fleet Carriers.
She was sold on completion to the Indian Navy in 1961 and became the IS Vikrant. She saw action in 1972 when she played a part in the Indo-Pakistan War. Decommissioned in 1996.
