This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Hector was a third rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Adams of Deptford, launched 27-May-1774, 169ft long, 47ft wide, and of 1,622 tons builders measurement.

Used as a prison ship from about 1808.

Broken up Feb-1816.

Won the battle Honour: Egypt 1801.
