This the third ship to carry the name HMS Handy was a trials gunboat.

Built by Armstrong, launched 30-Dec-1882 and bought by the Admiralty 1884, 115ft long, 37ft wide and displacing 508 tons.

Renamed HMS Excellent May-1891, HMS Calcutta 01-Nov-1916, HMS Snapper Aug-1817.

Sold 27-Apr-1822.
