This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Garland was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

originally HMS Sibyl, built by Adams of Buckler's hard, launched 02-Jan-1779, 120ft 6in long, 33ft 6in wide and of 599 tons builders measurement.

Renamed Garland, 14-Jul-1795.

Wrecked 16-Jul-1798 off Madagascar.
