This the first ship to carry the name HMS Endymion was a fifth rate, 44-gun, ship.

Built by Graves of Limehouse, launched 28-Aug-1779, 140ft long 38ft wide and of 893 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 20-Aug-1790 Turks Islands.

Won the Battle Honour: The Saints 1782.
