This the first ship to carry the name HMS Earnest was a 12-gun, gun-brig.

Built by Menzies of Leith, launched Jan-1805, 80ft long, 23ft wide and of 182 tons builders measurement. Armed with 10 x 18pdr guns and 2 x 18pdr carronades.

Sold 02-May-1816.
