This the thirteenth ship to carry the name HMS Drake was a mortar vessel.

Built at Portsmouth, launched 25-Mar-1834 as a dockyard lighter. 60ft long, 21ft wide and of 109 tons builders measurement.

Converted to a mortar vessel at Portsmouth Oct 1854.

Renamed MV.1 on 19-Oct-1855.

Renamed HMS Sheppey 07-Jul-1856 and used as a dockyard lighter again.

Broken up 1867.

Won the Battle Honour: Baltic 1855.
