HMS Crown (1782)  (3rd)
3rd Rate 64-gun

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Crown was a third rate, 64-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Perry of Blackwall, launched 15-Mar-1782, 160ft 6in long, 45ft wide and of 1,405 tons builders measurement. Armed with 26 x 24pdr, 26 x 18pdr and 12 x 9pdr guns.

Used as a prison ship at Portsmouth from May-1798, then a powder hulk 1802, and finally a prison ship from 1806.

Broken up Mar-1816.
