This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Champion was a
Light Cruiser. Built by Hawthorn Leslie, of Hebburn, laid down 09-Mar-1914, launched 29-May-1915, and completed 20-Dec-1915. On completion served as destroyer leader at the Grand Fleet 1915-18. Then to the 2nd Light Cruiser Squadron at Harwich 1919. Attached to HMS Vernon - Torpedo School, Portsmouth 1919-24. Then Gunnery Training Ship 1925-28. Attached to the Signal School 1928-33. Sold 1934. Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
