HMS Calliope (1915) CC  (4th)

    
This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Calliope was a Light Cruiser. The lead ship of a class of two.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 01-Jan-1914, launched 17-Dec-1914 and completed Jun-1915.

On completion joined the Grand Fleet 1915-19. Took part in the Battle of Jutland where she was badly damaged. Went into reserve 1919, then to the America & West Indies Station 1919-20. Returned to the UK and reserve again 1920-24. To the Atlantic Fleet 1925-25. Used for trooping duties 1925-26. Refitted then went into reserve 1926-28. To the Mediterranean 1928-29, after which it was back to the UK and a final spell in reserve 1929.

Sold 1931.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
