HMS Calliope (1837)  (2nd)
6th Rate 28-gun

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Calliope was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

Built at Sheerness Dockyard, launched 05-Oct-1837, 130ft long, 35ft 6in wide and of 717 tons builders measurement.

Used as a floating Chapel from 1860. Then a factory from 1865.

Breaking up completed at Portsmouth by 01-Nov-1883.

Won the Battle Honours: China 1841-42 and New Zealand 1846-47.
