HMS Archer (1941) CVE  (5th)

     
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Archer was an escort aircraft carrier.

Built by Sub Shipbuilders of Chester launched 14-Dec-1939.

Transferred to the Royal Navy on Lend-lease 17-Nov-1941.

Transferred to the Ministry of War Transport 1945 and renamed Empire Lagan.

Returned to the US Navy 08-Jan-1946.

Sold and renamed Anna Salen.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1943-44 and Biscay 1943.
