HMS Albemarle (1903) BB  (5th)

    
This the fifth HMS Albemarle was built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down in Jan-1900, launched 05-Mar-1903 and completed in Nov-1903.

She served with the Mediterranean Fleet from 1903-05, then the Channel, Home and Atlantic Fleets until 1913. Joined the 6th Battle Squadron Grand Fleet in 1914, and later the 3rd Battle Squadron  Channel Fleet.

In November 1915 she was en route to the Mediterranean when she suffered considerable weather damage in the Pentland Firth, and had to be repaired.

In 1916 she went to Archangel as an icebreaker and guardship. In 1917 she returned home to go into reserve.

Sold 19-Nov-1919.
