Churchill Class (1970) SSN

The Churchill Class (1970) SSN were the third British Class of Nuclear Powered Fleet Submarines.

They followed on from the Valiant Class (1966), and were very similar externally. However they did have many internal improvements.

Details of their service needs additional research. But during the Falklands war of 1982 HMS Conqueror became the first and so far only nuclear powered submarine to sink an enemy warship, when she sank the Argentine cruiser General Belgrano.
