Attacker Class (1983) PV

The Attacker Class (1983) were patrol and training boats.

Built by Fairy Marine and constructed of glass fibre reinforced hulls. HMS Attacker was built at Cowes in the Isle of Wight, and the others at Southampton.

HMS Attacker, Hunter and Striker formed the Cypress Squadron and the others used for patrol and harbour work.

Later HMS Attacker was allocated as training ship for  University Royal Navy Unit (UNRU) for Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities, with Chaser being allocated to Aberdeen University and Fencer to Southampton University.

Patrol boats carried 3 x general purpose machine guns and training boats were unarmed.

They were all decommissioned in 1991/92.
