Dance Class (1917) SL

The Dance Class of 14 minesweeping slops were originally designed as shallow draft tunnel tugs, taken over by the Admiralty and converted to the minesweeping role.

They were completed as two groups. The first group of ten in 1917 and used to sweep for mines off the coast of Flanders. The second group of four in 1919 and used to sweep coastal areas in Northern Russia, with two being sunk by mines.
