HMS Talbot (1896) CC  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Talbot was a 2nd Class, Protected Cruiser.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, laid down 05-Mar-1894, launched 25-Apr-1895, and completed 15-Sep-1896.

On completion went to the America & West Indies Station 1896-99. Returned to the UK at Devonport 1899-1901. To the China Station 1901-04. Returned to refit at Chatham 1904-05. Into reserve 1905-07.

Joined the Channel Battle Squadron 1907-09 and the 2nd Division Battle Squadron 1909-10. Remained at Haulbowline 1911-12 then joined the 3rd Fleet 1912.

Used as a temporary Destroyer Depot Ship 1913. Served with the 3rd Fleet 1913-14, Western Channel 1914-15. The Dardanelles 1915-16. The East Africa Station 1916-18, & Cape Station 1918-19.

Laid up at Haulbowline 1919.

Sold 1921.

Won the Battle Honour: Dardanelles 1915-16.
