This the first ship to carry the name HMS Redpole was a Cherokee Class, 10-gun, brig-sloop.

Built by Guillaume, of Northam, launched 29-Jul-1808.

Sunk Aug-1828, in action against  the pirate vessel Congress off Cape Frio.

Won the Battle Honour: Basque Roads 1809.
