This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Lively was a sixth rate, 20-gun, ship.

Built by Janvrin of Beaulieu, launched 10-Aug-1756, 108ft long, 30ft 6in wide and of 438 tons builders measurement.

Captured 10-Jul-1781 by the French ship Iphigenie.

Recaptured 29-Jul-1781 by HMS Perseverance.

Sold 11-Mar-1784.
