HMS Duke of Edinburgh (1906) CC  (1st)

    
This the only ship to carry the name HMS Duke of Edinburgh was the name ship of a class of two Armoured Cruisers.

Built at Pembroke Dock, laid down 11-Feb-1903, launched 14-Jun 1904 and completed 20-Jan-1906.

On completion joined the Atlantic Fleet 1906-08. Moved to the Channel Fleet 1908-09. back to the Atlantic Fleet 1909-13. To the Mediterranean 1913-14 and later in 1914 to the Red Sea.

Joined the Grand Fleet Dec-1914-1917.

Refitted 1917 when all her secondary guns were moved to the main deck level. On completion undertook convoy escort duty in the Atlantic 1917-18.

To the America & West Indies Station 1918.

Paid off at Immingham 1919 and sold 1920.

Won the Battle Honour: Jutland 1916.
