Honour - New Guinea 1942-44

Date - 1942-44
Type - Campaign Honour
Conflict - World War 2; 1939-45

Description The campaign took place around the island of New Guinea, north of Australia.

The Allied, (Australian and US) forces supported the defence of Port Moresby which stopped the Japanese advance to take the final part of the Island and isolate Australia.

They went on to support the allied advance along the north coast of New Guinea, isolating large Japanese forces on New Guinea and Japanese held islands off its coast.
